Consumer Reports 2026

Consumer Reports (CR) published its second braiding hair safety investigation in February 2026, testing 30 products from 29 brands — including human hair, plant-based, and synthetic options. Dosso Beauty's Clinically Tested Hypoallergenic Kanekalon Fiber Braiding Hair was the only product in the entire study with no detectable levels of the three heavy metals tested: lead, arsenic, and cadmium.
